Since the beginning of the Zumbrota Dance Studio, Robyn’s mom Joann Loppnow, better known to those around ZDS as Grandma Jo, was the studio’s biggest fan. From sewing costumes to selling tickets, she never passed up an opportunity to help out and never missed a performance. In the spirit of Grandma Jo’s selflessness and generosity, we are thrilled to announce the Grandma Jo Scholarship.
The details:
One student will be awarded with up to $500 credit to be used to cover tuition, costumes, shoes, tights, pictures & more.
Credit will be held in your ZDS account and used throughout the year on your behalf.
Any student enrolled in the 2025-26 dance season is eligible to apply. It doesn’t matter if you take one class a week or 10!
Students 11 and under may have the help of a parent to complete the application questions.
Students 12 and over should complete the application questions on their own.
A panel of judges from both inside and outside ZDS will judge applications without students’ names attached.
How to apply:
Provide the following information and answer the application questions in a two-page essay:
Name, age, classes you plan to enroll in for the 2025-26 dance season
What impact has dance had on your life?
How will this scholarship help you further your dance goals?
Grandma Jo loved nothing more than helping others. How would you pay it forward and give back to those at ZDS if selected as a scholarship recipient?
